The blacks were forbidden from living in white areas. The apartheid\xa0system was particularly oppressive for the blacks in the following\xa0ways:(i) The blacks were forbidden from living in white areas. They could work in\xa0white areas only if they had a permit.(ii)\xa0Trains, buses, taxis, hotels,\xa0hospitals, schools and colleges, libraries, cinema\xa0halls, theatres, beaches,\xa0swimming pools, public\xa0toilets, were all separate\xa0for the whites and blacks.(iii) The blacks could not visit churches where the whites worshipped.(iv) They could not form associations or protest against\xa0the terrible system of\xa0apartheid.
