It means that food from the mouth goes through the oesophagus in the stomach. Stomach contains gastric gland which secrete gastric juice containing mucus, HCL and pepsin. Then food goes to the small intestine where two glands r present, liver and pancreas. Liver secretes bile juice and pancreas secretes pancreatic juice which contains three enzymes amylase, lipase and trypsin also some intestinal juice is secretes. Then the digestion of good ends with conversion of protein into amino acids and fats into glycerol and fatty acids. Absorption of food takes place in small intestine where villi r present which increases surface area for absorption of digested food. Food is temporarily stored in rectum and then ejected out.
