Well explained
Orbit is a path around the nucleus in which electrons revolve it represents the movement of electron in one plane…….it is circular and elliptical in shape……………while…..orbital is the 3D space around the nucleus….. where probability of finding electron is maximum….and it may be spherical dumbell and double dumbell in shape
Orbit is well defined 2D circular path around the nucleus in which the electrons revolve on the other hand orbitals is 3D space around the nucleus within which the probability of finding the electrons is maximum. ➡️Concept of orbit is not accordance with the wave nature of electrons on the other hand orbitals is in accordance with the wave nature of electrons. ➡️orbit do not have directional characteristics on the other hand All orbitals except s-orbitals have directional characteristics.

Orbit:-1. It is the path around the nucleus where electrons revolve.2. They can accommodate 2n^2 electrons.3. They are circular in shape.Orbitals:-1. It is the space around nucleus where there is max probability of finding electrons.2. They can accommodate only 2 electrons.3. They can be circular, dumbbell or double dumbbell in shape.
