Escape velocity is\xa0a minimum velocity with which a body should be projected so that it overcomes the gravitational pull of the earth.\xa0Escape velocity is defined to be the minimum velocity an object must have in order to escape the gravitational field of the earth, that is, escape the earth without ever falling back. An object which has this velocity at the surface of the earth, will totally escape the earth\’s gravitational field ignoring the losses due to the atmosphere. Escape velocity is the speed that an object needs to be traveling to break free of a planet or moon\’s gravity well and leave it without further propulsion.

This is the velocity which is required to project body or send a body from earth surface into outer space or away from Earth\’s gravitational field the speed is 11.2 km/hr
Escape velocity is the velocity through which an object is thrown such it cross the gravitational field and never came back.
Escape valocity of earth is 11.2 km/sec
