When a cell is kept in hypertonic solution they are swells up
Hypertonic solution have less water and more solute (such as salt and sugar) than a cell.If you place an animal cell or plant cell in a hypertonic solution,the cell shrink,because it loses water .Water moves from higher concentration inside the cell to lower concentration outside
