Three different phases depicted by the three stanzas are -i) youth – author\’s mother has been appeared a girl of some twelve years with a sweet face.ii) middle age – thirty years later , she could be seen laughing at the snapshot . The sea holiday and dressing herself beautifully was her past.iii) death – in the third phase , the mother is expired.she had been early when the girls lived.
These three phases are: 1st phase depicts the time when poetess\’s mother was just 12 and was having a snapshot at the beach.The 2nd phase depicts the time when poetess\’s mother was adult and laughed at the snapshot. The 3rd phase depicts the time when her mother was dead and poetess had no words to say over that circumstance…..
