It is not possible to perform girdling experimmnets in monocots in monocot s the vascular bundles are scattered in the ground tissure therfore conitiuity of cascular tissure is not disturebed by removing the outer layer girdling is usually dine in woody stems of dicots wher collateral vascular bundles are arranged in one ring in such stems it is posssible to remove all the tissure outer ot vascular cambuium (barck , corted and phloem)
