The Cooperative are playing an important role in food security in India. Some examples are given below:a) Cooperative Run almost 94% of all fair price shops in Tamilnadu. They sell low priced goods to poor people.b) In Delhi , Mother Dairy is taking steps for providing milk as well as vegetables to the consumers at rates set by the government of Delhi.c) In Gujarat, Amul has started the white revolution in India by bringing forward milk and Milk products.d) In Maharashtra ,the academy of development science( ADS) has facilitated a network of NGOs for setting up grain banks in different regions.These are a few examples of cooperatives running in different parts of the country ensuring food security of different sections of society.
