In the soil earthworms makes fertility and due to fertile soil the plants grown rapidly and due to soil they get there proper food and nutrion also the very must thing in a growing plant is soil due to the fertility the plants grows rapidly
Let assume soil is not required for the growth of plants so you will have some other source which contain humus,and all nutrients but you will find soil is only resource which contain all of the above features. Therefore soil is the most important for the growth plants.
