There was no town planning in Ancient Mesopotamia.1. There were irregular shapes of house plots unless it was a temple, in which case the plot was walled and had regular boundaries.2. There were no street drains like in Mohenjo Daro. The house roofs sloped inwards to let the rainwater seep down with the help of clay pipes and drains into the sumps of the inner courtyard.3. People disposed of their wastes in the streets so the threshold of the houses was raised to prevent flowing of mud inside.4. Light came from doorways to the courtyard, not this windows, to allow people privacy.5. The main wooden door of the house always opened inwards because of an omen.6. The towns had cemetaries but some dead were buried in the home itself
