What is the mechanism of penicillin antibiotic?
Mechanism of Action: Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding and inactivating proteins (penicillin binding proteins) present in the bacterial cell wall. Penicillins inhibit the transpeptidation reaction and block cross-linking of the cell wall.
