The title of the play is quite appropriate. It sums up the theme of the play it suggest that the action of the play revolves around a mother. The playwright confront us at the outset with the problem that mother faces from his her grown up children and their father. The novel technique employed to tackle the spoilt children and the grown man is quite amusing and thought provoking. The bold and dominating mother acts tough with the children and makes them realise that need of proper intention towards their mother. They are made to learn lesson in courtesy and polite behaviour not only towards the mother but also to words are visiting the mother certainly has her day as a children learn to treat her properly. The supper being prepared by the children, their stay at home and the family game of rummy is a rare gift that the mother is recieves on this important day.
\’ Mother\’s Day\’ is an apt title given to the play. Mrs. Anne Pearson faces the problem of neglection and ill treatment by her family members. She shares her problem with her neighbour, who sorts it out in an interesting manner. The family members of the Pearson family finally realise the value of the lady in the house and mend their ways. Mrs. Pearson, at last, got rid of the problem. The mother definitely had her day, therefore the title of the play is absolutely justifiable.
