Due to impunity like magnesium chloride present in salt
Sodium chloride or common salt is hydroscopic in nature i.e. it absorbs water from the surroundings and become wet and sticky. Salt has a tendency to attract water molecules. Thus water molecules stick to it making it moist. Also, you must be knowing that salt dissolves in water, thus the water molecules which stick to the salt dissolves the salt in them.
