Why is it that non -metals do not displace hydrogen from dilute acids?
Because they do not have ability to loose electron and gence elements above hydrogen reactivity series would displace hydrogen

Because non metals are electron acceptor. They cannot supply electron to hydrogen to reduce it to hydrogen gas
