,. Due to the oxidation of protien luciferin
Fireflies body has a chemical reaction in their body . when the oxygen combines with calcium, ATP, and luciferin in presence of luciferase, a enzyme, then the light produce.Fire flies have a special kind of substance, i.e. luciferin that undergoes oxidation in the presence of air and an enzyme. This reaction is accompanied by emission of light. Therefore, fire flies glow at night.
