Acetaminophen, also known as paracetamol is not produced by plant or fungi, it is artificially formed. The starting material for the manufacturing of paracetamol is phenol which is nitrated to give a mixture of the ortho and para-nitrotoluene.
Other drugs are obtained as, penicillin is an antibiotic obtained from ascomycetous fungi Penicillium notatum. Reserpine is an alkaloid derived from the roots of Rauwolfia serpentina plant. Quinine comes from the bark of the Cinchona tree.
