A semi-permeable membrane is also called a selectively permeable memebrane or partially permeable membrane. Semi-permeable membranes allow only certain molecules or ions to pass through it through the process of diffussion.An example of biological semi-permeable is the lipid bilayer of plasma membrane in cells.
