Ketone is functional group formed when one O atom displaces two hydrogen atom. While aldehyde is formed when one oxygen atom with one H atom combinly displaces three H atom. Thus ketone formula is -C=O while aldehyde formula is -C=O \’H
Ketone is ●CO● and aldehyde is ◆CHO◆
Ketone is also a fuctional group whose formula is co and it loses 2 hydrogen and it makes double bond eg. C3H8 is the formula of propane but C3H6CO IS THE formula of propone.
Aldehyde is fuctional group whose formula is CHO or O it makes only one bond.
