A collision is said to have taken place if two bodies interact with each other and undergo a change in momentum and / or kinetic energy.Types of Collision(a) Perfectly Elastic CollisionA collision is said to be perfectly elastic if law of conservation of momentum and that of kinetic energy hold good during the collision.(b) Inelastic CollisionA collision is said to be inelastic if law of conservation of momentum holds good during collision while that of kinetic energy is not.
A\xa0collision\xa0is an event where momentum or kinetic energy is transferred from one object to another. … There are two general\xa0types of collisions\xa0in physics:\xa0elastic\xa0and inelastic. An inelastic\xa0collisions\xa0occurs when two objects\xa0collide\xa0and do not bounce away from each other. An elastic collision occurs when the two objects “bounce” apart when they collide. Two rubber balls are a good example.
