Placenta – A special tissue embedded in the uterus wall with the help of which human embryo gets nutrition from mother’s blood.Function:\tTo provide large surface area for glucose and ${{O}_{2}}$ to pass through mother’s blood to the embryo.\tThe metabolic waste generated by embryo is removed through placenta into mother’s blood.
Placenta is a disc shaped tissue which is embedded in the uterine wall. This tissue helps in providing nutrition to the growing embryo and removes waste from mother\’s blood.
