We do not clean ponds and lakes because they are natural ecosystems which have many decomposers,which keep the pond clean whereas an aquarium is an artificial ecosystem in which no decomposers are present to clean it.So it is necessary to keep the aquarium clean.
In ponds some bacteria or decomposers are present to clean up the pond
