Correct Answer – Option 1 : 440 cm2
Given:
Area of base of a cylinder = 25π cm2
Height of cylinder = 9 cm
Formula Used:
Area of circle = πr2
Total surface area of cylinder = 2πr(r + h)
Calculations:
Let the radius of cylinder be r cm.
Area of base of a cylinder = 25π cm2
⇒ πr2 = 25π cm2
⇒ r = 5 cm
Now, Total surface area of cylinder = 2πr(r + h)
⇒ Total surface area of cylinder = 2 × (22/7) × 5 × (5 + 9)
⇒ Total surface area of cylinder = 440 cm2
∴ The total surface area of cylinder is 440 cm2.
