Answer is : (b) sugars
DNA polymer is made up of nitrogenous base, a sugar and one or more phosphate. Optical activity results due to the molecular asymmetry. The nucleic acid bases have a plane of symmetry. Hence, they do not induce optical activity. Sugars are asymmetric and cause optical activity of DNA.
