For the development of the sense of collective identity, french revolutionaries took some measures for developing the idea of nation – 1. The idea of la patriyon ( the fatherland ) and la cityon ( citizen ) developed a collective identity between people. 2. They formed a three colour french flag. 3. They formed a national assembly. 4. They formed uniform system of measurement and equality before law.
