Information gathering means collecting facts.they are related to things that have already taken place. We can do nth about them. Gathering such fact has little importance. The important thing is to develope insight. It is not important to know how many people killed in the war. The important thing is to know why that war was fought and how it can be avoided. Thus true education lies in insight formation, not in gathering facts
According to Einstien, information can be gathered from a good book, like when history teacher asked when did Prussian defeated French in Waterloo? then Einstien replied it can be known from a good history book but insight formation is to know why they want to kill each other
