\xa0For the voyagers on the Wavewalker, hard times had started on the second day out of Cape Town itself. They encountered a massive storm with strong gales. The storm jib was dropped and heavy ropes were looped across the stern. They also wore oilskins and life jackets, in case things got worse. By the morning of the next day, Larry and Herb had taken control of the situation to some extent.\xa0On January 4 although, they had some respite before things got grim again. They were not afraid to die, if they were dying together. But by the morning of January 6, Wavewalker had came out of the storm and in a few more hours, they reached Amsterdam joyously.
