According to me, this is a real-life episode. This story, as narrated by the narrator, shows how these days pets are given importance in our society. The pet in the story, Tricki is described as an intimate partner of the rich mistress. The dog is given several privileges and facilities as we see in today\’s world. Thus it is a true and real-life episode for the incident.

It\’s a mixture of both as the narrator himself is a veterionary surgeon and has narrated the story.So,it is a real life episode but when starts to enjoying the items sent by Mrs. Pumphrey like eggs,brandy,wine,etc. it seems to be a merely fiction as it can\’t be happen in our real life.So,it\’s a mixture of both.
