In fragmentation, the division of the organism occurs upon maturation. For eg :- Spirogyra. In regenration the organism has to depend on being cut accidently and then each piece grows into new organism. For eg :- Planaria, hydra etc
In fragmentation, parent body breaks into many fragments with the sudden physical factors like strong wind and sea tides . And in regeneration ,the ability of cell which divided to from the lost part of the body. Ex earthworms
