1. Neutralisation reaction–>the reaction between an acid and a base forming salt and water is known as neutralisation reaction.NaOH+HCl—->NaCl+H2O. 2. Precipitation reaction–>the reaction in which solid precipitates are formed as one of the product.AgNO3+NaCl—->AgCl+NaNO3
Both are type of double displacement reactions i.e by exchange of ions two compounds forms two new compounds..but the difference is that..in precipitation reaction always forms one insoluble solid known as precipitate ..Barium chloride and sodium sulphate gives one insoluble solid barium sulphateBut in neutrilisation reaction no precipitate formed..Sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid gives sodium chloride..which is not in form of precipitate..
