The President of India is elected according to the system of proportional representation by means of the single transferable vote. This means that -

• A. The number of votes of the members of the Parliament and the members of the Legislative Assembly of the state are different.
• B. All the Members of Parliament and the Members of the Legislative Assembly of the State have one vote each
• C. All Members of Parliament and Members of Legislative Assemblies of the States have one vote each
• D. Members of Parliament of Lok Sabha have equal number of votes
