The Government of Rajasthan passed the Panchayati Raj Act in April 1994 in accordance with the provisions of the 73rd Constitutional Act. Many amendments were made in this Act, so that according to Section 15 of the new Act, one-third of the posts have been reserved for women at each level, such as one-third Panch in every Panchayat, one-third Sarpanch in every Panchayat Samiti area, one-third Pradhan in each district.
