As per the reports in the media the exports from India has gone down by 13% in the last few months. What steps has the Union Govt. taken to boost the same ? Customs duty under export promotion capital goods scheme was cut to 3% from the earlier 5%. Special incentives of Rs. 325 crore were announced for sectors like handmade carpets, leather and textiles. Excise duty on the goods produced exclusively for exports is withdrawn fully.
