DNA: is a hereditary unit of the cell which contains information for development and functioning of the organism.Genes: are the part of a chromosome, and made up of DNA. They provide information for carrying out the regular metabolic activity of the cell. They are also the units which are transferred from parents to the offsprings and show the herditary characters.
