    The time period between 1830 to 1848 is known as the age of revolutions because many revolution took place in the Europe by liberal nationalists.1) UPHEAVAL IN FRANCE: The first upheaval took place in France in july 1830 . The Bourbon kings who had never been restored to power after the Vienna congress by the conservatives were now overthrown by the liberals revolutionaries who installed a constitutional monarchy with Louis Philipe as its head. 2)UPRISING IN BRUSSELS: The july revolution sparked an uprising in Brussels which led to Belgium breaking away from the United Kingdom of the Netherlands.3)UPRISING IN GREEKS:Greece had been a part of Ottoman empire since the 15th century. The growth of revolutionary nationalism in Europe sparked off a struggle for independence amongst the Greeks which result in the Treaty of Constantinople of 1832, and recognised Greece as an independent nation.4) The nationalist in Greece got support from other Greeks living in exile, and also from many west European who had sympathies for the ancient Greek culture.5) Poets and artists lauded Greece as the cradle of European civilization and mobilized public opinion to support it\’s struggle against a Muslim empire. 6) Finally, the treaty of Constantinople of 1832 recognized Greece as an independent nation.BOOM !     1830 to 1848 is rightly referred to as the age of revolutionbecause it was during this period that the world witnessed the rise of liberalnationalism that stood in opposition to conservative regimes across Europe.Liberal nationalism is an idea where the Government is basedon the free will of the people. This was first demand in France and is known asthe French Revolution. During this time, in France, the liberal revolutionariesfought to overthrow the conservative regime to establish constitutionalmonarchy and then the Republic. This led to the revolution spreading to othercountries of Europe too. Greece for example was one such country where thenationalist movement culminated in the Independence of Greece. That is why theperiod is rightly called the Age of Revolution.\xa0
